Welcome from the Chair

Greetings and welcome to the Association of Research Directors, Inc. (ARD) web site. As Chair of ARD, I am pleased that you have taken the time to visit us. And, just in case you are new to ARD, please allow me to provide you brief information about ARD – why we exist.

ARD is a federation of eighteen (18) autonomous 1890 Land-Grant institutions that provides coordination of agricultural research and the associated education and training among member institutions in cooperation with partners from federal, state, and local government entities, non-governmental entities, and the private sector. Our eighteen-member institutions are located in 17 states.

A key partner of ARD is the United States Department of Agriculture Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service (USDA-CSREES). ARD holds membership in the “State Agricultural Research Experiment System” of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC). ARD cooperates with USDA-CSREES and NASULGC and other appropriate regional and national organizations in developing the national food and agricultural agenda of the United States.

ARD member institutions have a rich history of serving the underserved. Together, ARD member institutions offer advanced programs that are relevant to the enhancement of the quality of life for the citizens they serve.

From this ARD site you can gain access to information about each of the eighteen-member institutions, their agricultural and other programs, and how they contribute to the strengthening of their individual states, our nation, and other countries across the globe. Again, thanks for visiting and please visit again.

Sincerely,

Stephen H. Kolison Jr., Ph.D.

Chair/CEO, ARD

Dean and Research Director, TSU IAgER
